Lovin my own back yard

I love my back yard. I have it a bit wild and the wildlife loves it and I love to watch them. Yesterday I had the pleasure of seeing (and picking up I must confess) a box turtle as big as a pie plate. I unfortunately didn't get a picture as he was in a hurry to be on his way. It is just so wonderful to be able to watch the squirrels play and the birds fly around and land in my magnolia tree. You could say I am a real nature lover and get allot of inspiration from it.

Another thing I love are all the wild blackberries in my yard. I have been able to get enough for some blackberry jam and to make a blackberry buckle. I even had enough left over for snacking.

I guess it is my yard's way of lovin me back.

Happy Mother's Day

Sorry to say my blog has been on the back burnner while I have been dealing with "life issues".  I just had to take this opportunity to say Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mothers out there. Sometimes being a mother is a hard, thankless job( at least it feels that way). I am glad there is a day for people to reconize the important part mother had in there life. Good or bad your mother is always a part of you. Tell the mother in your life how much she means to you today.
